Genohub Inc. (“we” or “us”) is providing this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, process,
and disclose your information, including personal information, in conjunction with your access to
and use of our website and services.
Definitions:
Genohub Platform: Genohub’s website (genohub.com all its subdomains), and all
related applications and online services administered by Genohub.
Services: All online services offered on the Genohub Platform, as well as Sequencing
Related Services offered by Service Providers (“Providers”) via the Genohub Platform.
Researchers: Any person or institution using the Genohub Platform to seek or order
Services.
Members: Any person or institution with a user account on the Genohub Platform. This
includes Service Providers and Researchers.
GDPR: Global Data Protection Regulation
If you see an undefined term in this Privacy Policy (such as “Project”, “Service Provider” or
“Sequencing Related Service”), it has the same definition as in our
Terms of Service.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
In order to provide you the Services, administer your use of the Services, and improve our Services,
we request and collect certain pieces of information.
1.1 Information You Give Us
Account information: If you submit a request or create an account, to use the
Services, we will collect certain "Personal Information" (i.e. information relating to an identified
or identifiable natural person) that you provide to us, such as your name, email address, research
area, institution name, mailing address and phone number.
Service provider information: If you create an account to use the Services as a
Service Provider, in addition to the information listed above, we will also collect additional
information including the address of your facility, your facility’s capabilities and details of
services offered by your facility.
Other information you provide to us: You may also give us Personal Information
through our Website, for example, when you make inquiries about our Services or when you sign up for
updates. If you contact us by email, or in any other way, we will keep a copy of your communications
with us.
Payment information: We ask for and collect your financial information (like your
credit card information and billing address) when you place an Order to process payments.
Communications with Genohub and other members: When you communicate with Genohub or
use the Genohub Platform to communicate with other Members, we collect information about your
communication and any information you choose to provide.
Other information: You may otherwise choose to provide us information when you fill
in a form, conduct a
search for services, update or add information to your Genohub Account, write reviews, or respond to
surveys.
1.2 Information We Automatically Collect from Your Use of Genohub
When you use Genohub, we may collect information about the services you use and how you use them.
Basic Usage Information: We collect information about your searches for services,
quotes that you accept, Projects you conduct, when you last logged in or visited the
site, and other actions on Genohub.
Transaction Information: We collect information related to your transactions on
Genohub including the date and time of the transaction, amounts charged, other related transaction
details that are necessary for administering Projects.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: Our website, like many others, stores and
retrieves information on your browser using cookies. This information is used to make the site work
as you expect it to. For a full explanation on what cookies we use and why we use them please see

Automatic access log information: Our servers automatically record certain
information about how a person uses our Services (we refer to this information as “Log Data”),
including information about Researchers, Service Providers and non-account holders (together,
“Users”). Log Data may include information such as a User’s IP address, browser type, operating
system, URLs, search terms and other statistics.
Please note: You must not put any personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin,
political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the
processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person,
data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation
(including without limitation, any patient data or donor information etc.) (“Special Categories of
Personal Data”) on the Genohub Platform, or include this within any files or attachments submitted
on the Genohub Platform. If you upload or enter any such Special Categories of Personal Data into
the Genohub Platform by error, you must instruct us to remove it, although we do not have any
obligations to Users to check for this or to do so.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We use, store, and process information about you to provide, understand, improve, and develop the
Genohub Platform, and to create and maintain a trusted and safer environment.
2.1 Provide, Improve, and Develop the Genohub Platform.
- Enable you to access and use Genohub.
- Enable you to manage your projects.
- Enable you to communicate with other Members.
- Enable us to monitor and supervise your projects.
- Operate, protect, improve and optimize the Genohub Platform and experience, such as by
performing analytics and conducting research.
- Enable you to make payments.
- Provide customer service.
- Send you service or support messages, such as updates, security alerts, and account
notifications.
2.2 Create and Maintain a Trusted Environment.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
- Conduct investigations and risk assessments.
- Conduct checks against databases and other information sources.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
- Resolve any disputes with any of our users and enforce our agreements with third parties.
- Enforce our Project Policies,
Terms of Service, and other policies.
2.3 Provide, Personalize, Measure, and Improve our Advertising and Marketing.
- Send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising, and other information that may be of
interest to you based on your communication preferences (including information about Genohub or
partner campaigns and services).
- Personalize, measure, and improve advertising.
- Administer referral programs, rewards, surveys, or other promotional activities or events
sponsored or managed by Genohub.
3. SHARING & DISCLOSURE
Except as described in this section, we will not disclose your personal information to any third
party without notifying you of our intent to share the information and giving you an opportunity to
prevent your information from being shared.
3.1 With Your Consent.
We may share your information at your direction or with your explicit permission, such as when we
request to use you as a reference for another project or when you authorize a third party
application or website to access your Genohub Account.
3.2 Sharing between Researchers, Providers and Collaborators
To help facilitate projects, we may share your information with other Members as follows:
- When you as a Researcher submit a request for services, certain information about you may be
shared with one or more Providers, including your full name, the full names of any
collaborators, your institution name, and any information you may have provided us about your
project.
- When you as a Researcher add a Collaborator to a Genohub project, all associated information
about that project, including the names and email addresses of other Collaborators will be
shared with the new Collaborator.
- When you as a Researcher leave a non-anonymous review for a Provider, the contents of your
review, as well as your name and institution name may be visible to other Researchers on
Genohub.
- As a Provider we share information about you with other users of Genohub. This includes any
information you have provided us about your facility, public service listings (including
pricing), as well as ratings and reviews of your services submitted by past Researchers on
Genohub.
- Information you share publicly on the Genohub Platform may be indexed through third party search
engines. In some cases, you may opt-out of this feature in your Account settings. If you change
your settings or your public-facing content, these search engines may not update their
databases. We do not control the practices of third party search engines, and they may use
caches containing your outdated information.
3.3 Sharing with Third Parties
When you place an Order on Genohub, we may share certain essential information (e.g. your name and
billing address) with GDPR compliant third party services who provide credit card processing and
invoice management services for us.
3.4 Business Transfers
If Genohub undertakes or is involved in any merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets,
bankruptcy, or insolvency event, then we may sell, transfer or share some or all of our assets,
including your information in connection with such transaction or in contemplation of such
transaction (e.g., due diligence). In this event, we will notify you before your personal
information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
3.5 Aggregated Data
We may also share aggregated information (information about our users that we combine together so
that it no longer identifies or references an individual user) and other anonymized information for
regulatory compliance, industry and market analysis, demographic profiling, marketing and
advertising, and other business purposes.
3.6 Compliance with Law, Responding to Legal Requests, Preventing Harm and Protection of our
Rights.
We cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply
with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials
or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate: (i) to respond
to claims, legal process (including subpoenas) or to exercise, establish or defend our legal rights;
(ii) to protect our property, rights and vital interests and the property, rights and vital
interests of a third party or the public in general; and (iii) to stop any activity that we consider
illegal, unethical or legally actionable.
4. THE SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information that we collect
from or about you (including your Personal Information) from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
These measures include the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS), a cryptographic protocol, to
encrypt communications and other information sent through our Services. Please be aware, however,
that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely
secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information although we shall
at all times utilize commercially reasonable measures to protect your information. Genohub's servers
are backed up regularly and protected by security systems.
5. DATA RETENTION AND ERASURE
We generally retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for the performance of the
contract between you and us and to comply with our legal obligations. If you no longer want us to
use your information to provide the Genohub Platform to you, you can request that we erase your
personal information and close your Genohub Account. Please note that if you request the erasure of
your personal information:
- We may retain some of your personal information as necessary for our legitimate business
interests, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety. For example, if we
suspend an Genohub Account for fraud or safety reasons, we may retain certain information from
that Genohub Account to prevent that Member from opening a new Genohub Account in the future.
- We may retain and use your personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal
obligations. For example, we may keep some of your information for tax, legal reporting and
auditing obligations.
- Information you have shared with others (e.g., reviews, project postings) may continue to be
persist on the Genohub Platform, even after your Genohub Account is closed. However, attribution
of such information to you will be removed. Additionally, some copies of your information (e.g.,
log records) may remain in our database, but are disassociated from personal identifiers.
- Because we maintain the Genohub Platform to protect from accidental or malicious loss and
destruction, residual copies of your personal information may not be removed from our backup
systems for a limited period of time.
6. INTERNATIONAL USERS
Your personal data may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your
jurisdiction (e.g. EEA and/or Switzerland,) where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those
in your jurisdiction. We may transfer your personal data to our servers in the United States, and
other countries where you have requested Services from a Service Provider who is located in a
country outside of the EEA and/or Switzerland.
7. LINKS TO OTHER SITES
You may find links to other websites, either posted by Genohub or other Users. Genohub will make a
reasonable effort to link only to sites that meet similar standards for maintaining each
individual's right to privacy. However, many other sites that are not associated or authorized by
Genohub may have links leading to Genohub's site. Genohub cannot control these links and Genohub is
not responsible for any content appearing on these sites.
8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Genohub reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with this
provision. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the
Genohub website and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If Genohub is
going to use personally identifiable information collected through Genohub's site in a manner
materially different from that stated at the time of collection Genohub will notify users via email
and/or by posting a notice on Genohub's website for thirty (30) days prior to such use.
